Amazon's cloud computing unit, Amazon Web Services (AWS), announced that three of its data centers in the Middle East were affected by drone attacks, leading to their operational disruption. Two facilities in the United Arab Emirates were 'directly hit' by drones, causing significant damage, while a center in Bahrain was damaged due to a nearby attack. The company detailed that the attacks caused structural damage and disrupted power supply, even necessitating firefighting actions, which led to additional damage. AWS recommended that customers consider migrating workloads to other regions, emphasizing that the situation remains 'unpredictable' and anticipating a prolonged recovery due to the nature of the physical damage.
