The fire broke out on Wednesday evening near the port of Thassos, burning a wooded area above Glikadi beach. Strong winds helped the flames spread. Romanian tourists reported that some areas were without electricity. Firefighters from Kavala have been called, but the intervention is only being carried out by land during the night. The authorities asked tourists to avoid traveling in the affected area to facilitate access for rescue teams.
