Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the band Queen, was honored with a coin issued by the Royal Mint of Great Britain. The design of the coin features Mercury singing and includes his signature, evoking his talent through elaborate details. Some coins have colored elements, such as the yellow jacket worn at the Live Aid concert.
The coin was launched in the year that marks 40 years since this concert and his solo album, 'Mr Bad Guy'. Freddie's sister, Kashmira Bulsara, struck the first coin and emphasized the pride and emotion of this moment, stating that Freddie would have been delighted by this tribute. The Royal Mint will donate a gold version of the coin to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the charity founded in memory of the artist. The prices of the coins range from £18.50 to £29.50, while the gold coin costs £9,350.
