Daniel Băluță presents the progress of the Apărătorii Patriei Overpass and the construction’s “eccentric pillars”

Sector 4 Mayor Daniel Băluță presented images on Facebook on Saturday showing the progress of work on the Apărătorii Patriei Overpass, including the inside of the “eccentric pillars” supporting the structure. The mayor explained that, at this stage, the components needed to continue construction are being installed and assembled.

The overpass is being built over Berceni Road, near the intersection with Turnu Măgurele and Sergent Ion Iriceanu streets. The project provides for a structure approximately 860 metres long, with two traffic lanes in each direction.

The investment is estimated at approximately €20 million, with funding coming from the local budget of Sector 4. The works are being carried out by the association of Concelex, Omega Star Systems, Alpenside, Luxten and PAB România.

Daniel Băluță presented the first images of the overpass model in April last year. Sector 4 City Hall estimates that the works could be completed by the end of 2026.
