Completion of the main works on Unirii slab will take place by the end of 2026

The main works to strengthen and rehabilitate the deck in Unirii Square, above the Dâmbovița River, are expected to be completed by the end of 2026, without major disruptions to traffic and activities in central Bucharest. The announcement was made on Friday, November 6, by Cristian Erbașu, general manager of Construcții Erbașu, the leader of the consortium carrying out the project.

According to him, funding has been secured, and the essential interventions are nearing completion. Secondary works will continue afterward, but their impact on traffic and daily life is expected to be limited.

The project involves strengthening and rehabilitating important infrastructure in the Unirii Passage area and aims to increase the structural safety of the deck. The works contract, worth 867.75 million lei excluding VAT, was signed in January 2024 by the Sector 4 City Hall with the consortium formed by Construcții Erbașu, Concrete & Design Solution, and Bog’Art. The project’s financing agreement was signed in August 2024 by the Ministry of Development. The completion of the core works does not mean the entire project will be finished, as additional interventions will still be carried out.
