The modernization works on Prelungirea Ghencea are expected to be fully completed in September 2028, according to the section-by-section schedule published by Bucharest City Hall. The project includes widening the road to four lanes, modernizing 5.73 kilometers of double-track tramway and developing bicycle lanes.

The first section, between Brașov and Râul Doamnei streets, is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2027. The tram line is 95% complete, with boundary fencing, catenary poles and lighting still to be installed.

Between Râul Doamnei and Valea Oltului, the deadline for the tramway and roadway is July–August 2027. The Valea Oltului–Mărăcineni section is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, while the Mărăcineni–Park&Ride segment is scheduled for November–December 2027.

In the area of the Tram 41 terminal, work on the line is scheduled for March–April 2028, while final paving is planned for July–August. The final works will concern the tram loop, access to the Park&Ride parking facility, bicycle lanes and the bus platform.

The works are being carried out by the Bog’Art–Concelex consortium. The initial contract, signed in 2019, provided for a 24-month execution period. Completion in 2028 would mean the project is finalized approximately 21 years after development work in the area began.
