In its report for 2025, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) announced that 67 journalists were killed worldwide, nearly half of them in Gaza, in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The organization emphasizes that the number of journalists killed has increased due to the criminal actions of armed forces and organized crime. RSF highlighted that 503 journalists are imprisoned in 47 countries, and 135 are missing.

The organization also condemned attacks on journalists, stating that the Israeli army is responsible for most of these, accusing it of deliberately hunting journalists. In Mexico, nine journalists have been killed, and in Ukraine and Sudan, the number of victims has increased. RSF has urged governments to protect journalists and not to turn them into targets.
