The Social Democratic Party has decided not to support any candidate in the second round of the presidential elections, in which Nicușor Dan and George Simion are competing. Senator Victoria Stoiciu was the only one who voted against, arguing that PSD should support Nicușor Dan's pro-European direction. She stressed the importance of a clear stance against extremism and expressed concerns about democratic stability. Stoiciu acknowledged the difficulties of supporting a candidate associated with USR, but insisted that the current moment is crucial for Romania.
