Senator Victoria Stoiciu was the only one who voted against, arguing that PSD should support Nicușor Dan's pro-European direction. She stressed the importance of a clear stance against extremism and expressed concerns about democratic stability. Stoiciu acknowledged the difficulties of supporting a candidate associated with USR, but insisted that the current moment is crucial for Romania.
