At the third meeting of the Black Sea - Aegean Corridor Platform, held on June 19 in Thessaloniki, officials from Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania reaffirmed their commitment to completing this transport project.
The Greek Minister of Transport, Christos Dimas, emphasized the importance of the corridor, which will connect ports in Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania, thus facilitating the interconnectivity of critical infrastructures. The European Commissioner for Transport, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, announced an increase in the project budget from 3.5 billion to 4.6 billion euros, with an additional allocation of 1.1 billion euros from the EU.
The project will support the competitiveness and security of the European Union, having a significant impact on trade and military mobility. Representatives of the three countries confirmed their commitment to closely collaborate to achieve this common goal, highlighting the strategic importance of the corridor for regional and European economic development.
