The interim president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, discussed with European Commissioner Roxana Mănzatu about Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's proposal to increase the minimum wage. Mănzatu warned that such a measure could lead to an infringement zone in relation to European legislation, but promised that she would seek solutions and discuss with the Prime Minister. At the same time, the president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, stated that it is not the time for a minimum wage increase in 2026, arguing that all coalition partners agreed with this conclusion. In contrast, former Minister of Finance, Adrian Câciu, stated that PSD firmly supports the increase of the minimum wage starting January 1, 2026, provoking reactions from coalition colleagues. This divergence of opinions reflects the tensions within the governing coalition regarding wage policy.
