Sorin Grindeanu, the head of PSD, organized on Wednesday the third press conference in 72 hours, during which he launched vehement attacks against USR and the interim government led by Ilie Bolojan. Grindeanu stated that PSD will not support the salary law in its current form. The first conference took place on Monday, when he proposed the establishment of a Crisis Committee in Parliament to address Romania's precarious governmental situation. On Tuesday, he announced that PSD parliamentarians had drafted an amendment to postpone the increase of VAT on housing until October 1 and requested the support of other parties to vote for it. Additionally, Grindeanu announced the convening of an extraordinary session of the Chamber of Deputies starting July 27, to discuss the PNRR package. Romania has been in a governmental crisis for almost three months, after PSD and AUR toppled the Executive without proposing viable solutions for a new government.
"PSD does not vote for the salary law in its current form," Grindeanu stated.
