PSD President Sorin Grindeanu attacked PNL and USR during the parliamentary session dedicated to the vote on the government led by designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan. Grindeanu announced that PSD lawmakers would not support the cabinet and criticized the way right-wing parties had managed the political crisis, which he said had lasted 150 days.
The Social Democratic leader accused PNL and USR of choosing to retain their positions and extending the crisis by another ten days by proposing a “puppet government” with no real chance of forming a majority. Grindeanu described the Mureșan cabinet as “another Bolojan government,” with greater USR influence, and repeated the message: “PSD says no to this government.”
In his speech, Grindeanu claimed that Siegfried Mureșan did not want the position of prime minister but was seeking to remain in Brussels. He also made accusations about the designated prime minister’s political trajectory, referring to former politicians and the support he had received in the past.
The PSD president also cited the economic difficulties faced by families, mentioning rising prices and higher taxes. In conclusion, he warned that early elections could drastically reduce PNL and USR’s representation, saying that after the vote, “you will all fit in an elevator.”
