The president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, stated that the new salary law will not reach Parliament this week and probably not in the next one either, citing blockages in negotiations regarding education revenues and the lack of a funding source for the proposed increases.
Hunor emphasized that the project cannot be supported in its current form, as there is a risk that certain categories of employees may lose income. He mentioned that, in education, the issues are very serious and that UDMR will not accept the new law leading to a decrease in incomes in education or health.
Additionally, the UDMR leader requested explanations for the increase in the estimated budget impact of the project, which has reached 12.1 billion lei, without having a clear source of coverage for the additional 4 billion lei.
The president of USMR added that, alongside the costs of the new law, next year's budget will also need to cover the outstanding salary rights of magistrates, estimating an amount of approximately 6 billion lei.
