Two Romanians, Mario-Alexandru Ratou (26 years old) and Mario-Vifor Ratou (22 years old), have been remanded in custody in England, accused of raping a girl under 16 in the center of Manchester. The incident took place in an apartment in the Green Quarter area, and the two were arrested on April 7, 2026, following a police report.
Following their appearance before the magistrate at the Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on April 11, both young men remained in custody. Mario-Vifor Ratou is also accused of illegal detention. A third person, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of rape but was released on bail. British authorities are seeking the help of citizens to obtain relevant information in this case, emphasizing the importance of supporting the victim and her friends during this difficult time.
