A female student from Prahova was allegedly raped by several schoolmates

Police in Prahova are investigating a case involving the alleged rape of a minor, reportedly committed on September 24 in an abandoned building in the town of Plopeni. The 17-year-old victim and the five young men suspected are schoolmates, and the acts allegedly took place outside the educational institution.

Plopeni Town Police were notified on September 25 by representatives of an educational institution. According to investigators, three young men allegedly psychologically coerced the girl into engaging in non-consensual sexual intercourse, while two others allegedly witnessed the acts.

After questioning and the collection of evidence, police conducted six home searches on October 1 in Băicoi, Slănic and Dumbrăvești. Five young men, aged between 15 and 18, were detained for 24 hours.

On October 2, the court ordered pretrial detention for one of the suspects and house arrest for two others, while the prosecutor placed the remaining two under judicial supervision for 60 days. The General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection is providing support to the victim. The investigation is ongoing, with the presumption of innocence being respected.
