The 15-year-old from Pitești accused of attacking his classmates with a machete was placed under house arrest on Friday, October 23, following the incident that took place the previous day at Armand Călinescu College. The investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances of the attack and any factors that may have led to the escalation of the conflict.

According to the information available, the boy allegedly came to school on Thursday with a machete and attacked several classmates in a school restroom. After questioning, prosecutors initially ordered his detention, and the court subsequently decided to place him under house arrest.

The teenager’s parents claim that he had also been the victim of repeated assaults, humiliation and acts of marginalization by his classmates. The family says that tensions had built up over time and that the problems had not been addressed effectively. These claims are to be investigated by the authorities.

The case has once again drawn attention to violence and bullying in schools. Local authorities and the Ministry of Education have announced checks, while investigators are questioning students, school employees and witnesses to determine whether there had been prior warning signs and whether the incident could have been prevented.
