The school counselor of the “Armand Călinescu” Technical College in Pitești, Niculina Ungureanu, said Thursday that the young man who attacked his classmates with a machete had not previously displayed behavior that would have raised questions, according to ePitești.ro. She also told Digi24 that the other students claimed the attacker had laughed along with his classmates at the jokes they made. This came after a witness to the attack said that it had been an act of revenge for bullying.
“He was a quiet student; he had not had any kind of altercations with any other student. The teachers also say, in turn, that he was quiet and that he did not stand out in a negative way,” Niculina Ungureanu said, according to ePitești.ro.
At the same time, although one of the witnesses to the attack had previously said that the incident was revenge for bullying, the counselor claims that “he also laughed at their jokes.”
“He was somewhat more timid, but he cooperated. Not even today did the student in question give any indication that he had a plan,” Niculina Ungureanu said.
According to her, citing the other students, the machete had allegedly been hidden in his pants.
