Prosecutors investigate a serious case: a 12-year-old girl was found in the home of an 18-year-old young man / The young man arrested for rape

An 18-year-old man from Prahova County has been placed in pretrial detention for 30 days and is being investigated for rape after a 12-year-old girl, reported missing by her family, was found at his home. The case came to investigators’ attention one day after authorities presented the case of a 17-year-old girl who was the victim of an alleged rape committed by classmates.

According to prosecutors, there is evidence indicating that a sexual act may have taken place between the minor and the young man. The girl had left home and was identified at the suspect’s house several hours later. Following the investigation, prosecutors ordered his pretrial detention for 30 days.

The minor is now receiving protection and support from the authorities and representatives of the General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection. The investigation is continuing to establish all the circumstances and relevant evidence in the case. The incident once again highlights the vulnerability of minors and the need for rapid intervention when a child is reported missing.
