A 17-year-old girl and a 33-year-old man were placed in preventive detention for 30 days in a human trafficking case investigated by DIICOT – Oradea Territorial Service. The two are suspected of having sexually exploited four minor girls who were in the care of family-type homes.
According to prosecutors, the victims were allegedly recruited starting in July 2025 and induced to practice prostitution for the benefit of the defendants. The teenage girl allegedly gained the girls’ trust by offering them food, soft drinks, and cigarettes, after which she allegedly induced them to engage in sexual relations in exchange for money. The money obtained allegedly went to her.
Investigators claim that the man allegedly took charge of three of the victims, transported them to various locations in Oradea, and accommodated them in rented apartments. The money collected was allegedly appropriated by the two.
The two were detained on October 14, 2026, and the Bihor Tribunal subsequently ordered their preventive detention. The investigation was conducted together with BCCO Oradea police officers.
