Three young women from Mangalia assaulted a 15-year-old girl and posted the footage online. One of them was placed in pretrial detention

Three young women from Mangalia are under investigation after allegedly threatening and physically assaulting a 15-year-old minor, with footage of the incident published online. Police launched an investigation ex officio after the video appeared in the public domain and opened a criminal case for assault or other violence and threats.

According to the Constanța County Police Inspectorate, the victim was allegedly attacked in the municipality of Mangalia. The incident was allegedly linked to a violent trend on social media, but investigators are yet to establish the exact circumstances and motive for the assault.

A 19-year-old woman was placed in pre-trial detention for 30 days after the court admitted the prosecutor’s request. A 16-year-old minor was placed under house arrest, also for 30 days. In the case of the third young woman, aged 14, investigations are ongoing, and the legal measures will be established at the end of the inquiry. The footage contains scenes with a strong emotional impact.
