A 20-year-old woman who assaulted five women from Constanța was detained

Constanța police have detained a 20-year-old woman accused of physically assaulting five women between July and October, on several streets and in public places across the municipality. The incidents were established following investigations conducted by police officers.

The young woman, who had a documented specialist medical history, was transported to a medical facility for evaluation. On October 15, she underwent a forensic medical examination, which concluded that she had discernment at the time the offenses were committed.

Following the evidence gathered, police ordered her detention for 24 hours. The investigation concerns the offenses of assault or other acts of violence, disturbing public order and peace, and destruction of property.

The young woman is to be brought before the prosecutor handling the case, who will decide on a preventive measure. Investigations continue to establish all the circumstances in which the assaults occurred. Detention is a procedural measure, and the person under investigation benefits from the presumption of innocence until a final court ruling.
