DRDP Craiova closes Transalpina between Rânca and Obârșia Lotrului due to snowfall and severe weather.

The Craiova Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges is closing, starting Saturday at 14:00, traffic for all categories of motor vehicles on DN 67C – Transalpina, between Rânca and Obârșia Lotrului. The measure is being taken due to snowfall and severe weather conditions in the mountainous area.

Before closing the section, a snow-clearing vehicle from the Târgu Jiu National Roads Section will carry out one final inspection to check whether any vehicles remain on the route. After the restriction is imposed, vehicle access will be prohibited, and road workers will no longer carry out inspections on the closed section.

DRDP Craiova recommends that drivers comply with the measures and not attempt to enter the blocked road. The restriction concerns one of the highest roads in Romania, which is frequently affected by severe weather during the cold season. The authorities have not yet specified when the section between Rânca and Obârșia Lotrului will reopen.
