Road workers are spreading anti-skid material on Thursday morning on DN 67C – the Transalpina, along the section between Rânca and Obârșia Lotrului, in the mountainous area of Gorj County. The intervention is being carried out to keep the road in good condition, as mixed precipitation and low temperatures have been reported in the area.

The Craiova Regional Directorate for Roads and Bridges announced that inspection and anti-skid material spreading works are under way. Road workers recommend that drivers avoid crossing the mountain pass in the early hours of the day, when the road surface may be slippery.

During the night, the section between Rânca and Obârșia Lotrului is closed to all categories of motor vehicles. Under the current schedule, traffic is allowed daily between 09:00 and 20:00.

Two days earlier, mixed precipitation and, in isolated cases, snowfall were sporadically recorded in the mountainous area of the Transalpina. Drivers are advised to observe the restrictions and follow the road workers’ instructions.
