The PRO TV News correspondent reported that almost all trains scheduled to arrive in Bucharest are experiencing significant delays due to extreme temperatures. At Gara de Nord, the temperature at rail level reached 47.8°C, which caused trains to operate under speed restrictions, limited to 50 km/h. The longest delay was 160-165 minutes for a train from Timișoara, and passengers mentioned that, although they had air conditioning, the journey was extremely long. Additionally, there were delays of 80 minutes for a train from Pitești and smaller delays of 10-20 minutes for other trains. Travelers at Gara de Nord are facing suffocating conditions, and traffic restrictions have also been extended to heavy vehicles to protect road infrastructure. Exceptions are made for essential transport, such as those for people and perishable goods.
