The National Railway Company CFR S.A. announced that, from Friday to Monday, it will implement preventive measures due to the weather warnings issued by the National Meteorological Administration. These measures include the possibility of introducing temporary speed restrictions on certain sections of traffic, depending on the temperatures recorded at the level of the railway infrastructure. CFR's specialized staff will constantly monitor the areas affected by extreme heat, conducting checks on the tracks, embankments, bridges, electrification installations, signaling, and telecommunications. Meteorologists have issued yellow, orange, and red heatwave warnings, with temperatures that can reach 40 degrees, which necessitates these preventive measures to ensure the safety of railway traffic.
