A few months earlier, three obstacles intentionally placed on track II were identified on the Constanța–Mangalia railway line (including a hectometric marker placed within the railway clearance gauge), and CFR stated that they had been removed before the train passed. Also, in another area, traffic on Main Line 200 between Simeria and Orăștie was suspended after staff discovered makeshift electrical installations in the tunnel, and the authorities launched an investigation.
Alongside these episodes, CFR SA also reported isolated traffic disruptions: international train IRN 461 “România” remained stranded on the Giurgiu–Ruse railway bridge due to a locomotive malfunction, and the continuation of the journey depended on inspecting and putting the locomotive back into operation.
