Rail traffic was temporarily suspended on Tuesday morning between Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud stations, after the railway embankment collapsed at kilometer 241+590. The measure was ordered by CFR, starting at 07:00, for safety reasons and to assess the affected infrastructure.
Regio train 8381, operated by CFR Călători, was on the respective section when traffic was suspended and is to be withdrawn to Eforie Nord station.
Specialist teams from the Constanța Regional Railway Branch are monitoring the area and determining the work required to repair the embankment. The company has not yet specified how long the interventions will last.
Rail traffic between the two stations can resume only after the work is completed and compliance with all safety conditions has been verified. Until then, passengers traveling on the Constanța–Mangalia route are being transported by road transfer.
