ITPF Giurgiu has announced temporary traffic restrictions on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu - Ruse, from June 4-5, 2026.

The Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police (ITPF) Giurgiu has informed that, from June 4 to 5, 2026, traffic on the Friendship Bridge Giurgiu - Ruse will be temporarily restricted for construction and installation works. The Bulgarian authorities have sent a notification through the Giurgiu Joint Contact Center, announcing that the works will begin on June 4 at 09:00, at which point traffic will be completely stopped to ensure safety conditions.

Traffic will be suspended for light vehicles between 09:00 - 21:00 on June 4 and for heavy vehicles from June 4, 09:00 to June 5, 09:00. The Border Police recommends drivers and transport companies to plan alternative routes through other border crossing points, such as Calafat, Bechet, Zimnicea, Turnu Măgurele, Călărași, or Vama Veche, to avoid congestion.
