The Border Police announced that, from February 16 to April 3, 2026, there will be traffic restrictions through the Sighetu Marmației Border Crossing Point, due to the resumption of works on the historic bridge over the Tisza River, which connects Romania to Ukraine. The works concern the roadway and sidewalks of the bridge, and the restrictions will be applied from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 16:00, to ensure the works are carried out safely. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected, and the Border Police recommends that drivers plan their trips in advance.
