In the context of the ban on firecrackers and fireworks, the police in Botoșani conducted searches in the warehouses of a new courier company, discovering over 800 kilograms of illegal pyrotechnic items. These were being delivered by authorized legal entities to unauthorized individuals. This action is part of a national campaign by the Romanian Police, which has led to the confiscation of over 100 tons of pyrotechnic items and the opening of over 700 criminal cases. The legislative changes in August prohibited the sale of items from categories P1 and T1 to the general public, allowing only low-noise items. The purchase and use of prohibited items constitutes a crime, punishable by imprisonment from 1 to 5 years.
