Searches in Bucharest and five counties in a case of fuel theft from tank cars

The police of the Transport Police Directorate and the Regional Transport Police Section in Bucharest are conducting 37 searches in Bucharest and in the counties of Dâmbovița, Ilfov, Prahova, Ialomița, and Teleorman.

These actions are part of an investigation into the theft of 10 tons of fuel from tank cars, in which crimes of qualified theft, embezzlement, and failure to fulfill service obligations are being investigated. Investigators have documented the criminal activity of 35 individuals and two legal entities, during the period from October 2025 to June 2026, within two criminal cases supervised by the Prosecutor's Offices attached to the Courts of Sector 1 Bucharest and Buftea. The actions are supported by the Service for Interventions and Special Actions and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie.
