Romania is the second largest producer of bicycles in the EU, but has the lowest bicycle use, with only 0.3% of urban distances covered by bike.

This paradox is especially evident in Bucharest, where residents lose more than 100 hours in traffic in a year. However, solutions exist, but they require a dialog between authorities, developers and civil society, which is currently suffocated by car horns. European Commission data shows that more than half of all journeys are made by car, with only 0.3% made by bike.
