The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) reported a significant increase in ticket and subscription sales in the first nine months of 2025, with over 35 million tickets sold and nearly two million subscriptions, compared to the same period in 2024. This trend suggests a change in the perception of Bucharest residents towards public transport, which is becoming a stable and preferable option.

Additionally, the number of violations has decreased by nearly 16,000 cases, indicating an increase in respect for travel rules. The expansion of the dedicated bus lane network for public transport to 65.3 kilometers has contributed to improving transport efficiency, reducing waiting times and increasing average speed. STB emphasizes that these changes reflect a new mindset, in which public transport is perceived as a conscious choice and not just a fallback solution.
