The Ice Hotel at Bâlea Lake, an iconic tourist attraction, will not be rebuilt this season due to unfavorable weather, according to the official announcement from the hotel representatives. This suspension is a first, considering that the hotel has been rebuilt annually since 2005, except for the pandemic period. Located at an altitude of 2,000 meters, between the peaks of the Făgăraș Mountains, the hotel is accessible only by cable car. Every winter, blocks of ice from Bâlea Lake were cut to create rooms, a restaurant, and a church, all decorated with sculptures and statues handcrafted by local craftsmen. Each season brought a new theme, captivating visitors with its uniqueness.
