In an open letter, the Government Employees Union (SAALG) emphasized that the principle of 'people who deliver should be paid accordingly' should not only apply to strategic state companies but also to public sector employees.

The union contests the 'selective' application of performance criteria, stating that salary increases should be extended to all those who contribute to the functioning of the state. They mentioned the significant loss of personnel in the central administration, including one-third of the employees of the Prime Minister's Chancellery in recent months. SAALG urges the Government to urgently consider a measure to increase salary incomes, suggesting a one-time amount of 15,000 lei for each eligible employee.

Union members demand that the principle of pay equity be applied uniformly, considering the recent memorandum through which employees Romgaz benefited from a salary increase of 6.5%.
