Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Thursday the launch of the 'Diaspora Invests at Home' program, which aims to support Romanians in the diaspora who wish to establish businesses in the country. The government has approved this program, having a budget of 100 million euros, and has mandated the Investment and Development Bank to implement the project.
According to Bolojan's statements, Romanians who have had residence or domicile abroad in the last 9 months will be able to access a loan of up to 200,000 euros, of which 60% will be in the form of a grant. The purpose of the program is to facilitate the economic reintegration of these citizens by increasing access to financing for newly established businesses, leveraging the experience gained abroad. The assets acquired through this program must be maintained in operation for at least 3 years.
