The interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the approval of seven industrial projects within a call funded by the Modernization Fund, aimed at increasing energy efficiency.
The approved projects have a total value of 290 million euros, of which 109 million euros represent state aid.
The Ministry of Energy has completed the evaluation of the submitted projects, and the call had a budget of 150 million euros, being open until February 2026.
The projects aim to modernize energy-intensive equipment, re-technologize production lines, and electrify processes, with the goal of reducing annual energy consumption by 990,000 MWh and emissions by 239,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent.
The next steps include resolving appeals by October 6, 2026, and completing investments by June 30, 2030.
These investments will contribute to lowering production costs and increasing the competitiveness of the industry.
