The deputies adopted a bill that imposes fines between 500 and 1,000 lei for littering on the beaches of the Black Sea.

The purpose of the initiative is to ensure a balance between commercial interests and citizens' right to free access to the beach. Among the proposed measures are guaranteeing a minimum percentage of public beaches, restrictions on the complete rental of beaches, legally defining public beaches, and involving local authorities in their management. The project also provides for penalties for the abusive occupation of public beaches. Beach users for tourism purposes will enter into rental contracts, and local authorities will be able to request a fee of up to 20% from the beaches used to transform them into public beaches.
