The government has decided to suspend again the penalties for traders who issue fiscal receipts without the beneficiary's tax identification code and other information, until November 1, 2026. This measure comes after the approval of an emergency ordinance, considering that the fines, which range between 2,000 and 4,000 lei, were supposed to be applied starting September 1, 2023, but were previously postponed for technical and legislative reasons.
The government argues that the implementation of the new legal requirements necessitates changes to the legislative framework and obtaining additional technical approval from the Research and Development Institute in Informatics. Additionally, authorized distributors need to develop and install new software for approximately 900,000 electronic fiscal cash registers, which requires additional time. The suspension of penalties is intended to ensure a favorable context for traders to comply with the new regulations.
