Romania recently tested 'Vlah', the first armored combat vehicle designed and built entirely in the country, created through a partnership between the Moreni Automechanical Plant and a private company. The prototype was developed over three years and successfully passed engine tests. Bogdan Georgescu, the technical director of the project, emphasized that the vehicle offers protection against NATO ammunition and withstands explosives up to 6 kg, ensuring the survival of personnel even in the event of the vehicle's destruction.
'Vlah' is capable of traversing difficult terrain and executing defense and attack missions with advanced equipment. Series production could begin next year, with a target of at least 200 units per year. Officials estimate that if the prototype's performance is confirmed, 'Vlah' could become a top product in the global defense market.
