The spokesperson of the PSD, Alexandru Rafila, stated that there is no information about a possible exit of the social-democrats from the government, emphasizing that the results of the elections in Bucharest should not be correlated with a political decision in this regard.

Rafila acknowledged that the result, in which the PSD candidate, Daniel Băluță, obtained third place, is disappointing and was a surprise, considering the previous polls. He emphasized the importance of higher voter turnout and discussed the possibility of returning to the election of mayors in two rounds, mentioning that this is a political decision that belongs to Parliament. Rafila encouraged the new mayor of the Capital to demonstrate through his activity that he deserves the trust of the citizens and to contribute to increasing voter participation in the future.
