In the first 9 months of the year, the Romanian Police confiscated 2,733 illegal firearms and carried out actions against poaching and crimes involving explosives.

In the first 9 months of 2023, the Romanian Police confiscated 2,733 firearms held illegally, of which 229 were lethal and 2,504 non-lethal. These actions are part of a broader effort to combat crimes related to weapons, ammunition, poaching, and explosives. Recently, in Sector 6 of the Capital, gunfire was exchanged, and police found a damaged vehicle, confirming that the incident was caused by a person using an airsoft gun. At the national level, 1,761 actions related to weapons and poaching were carried out, 933 actions concerning explosives, and 10,047 inspections were conducted. Additionally, police confiscated 7.3 tons of game meat, 333,642 cartridges, 41 vehicles used in poaching, and various pyrotechnic items.
