The police in Suceava carried out 38 searches on Thursday as part of an investigation into the violation of the weapons and ammunition regime, the violation of the explosives regime, and poaching. These actions led to the discovery and seizure of 11 weapons, over 700 cartridges, hunting trophies, game meat, prohibited pyrotechnic articles, and devices for monitoring the hunting grounds.
The authorities established that some of the weapons may have been illegally introduced into Romania and used in poaching activities. Following the hearings, five individuals were detained and incarcerated in the Suceava County Police's Detention and Preventive Arrest Center. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the criminal activity, and the case is being coordinated by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Suceava Tribunal.
