Ilfov police conducted 18 searches in three counties, in a case concerning the illegal possession of firearms and live ammunition

Police officers from the Ilfov Weapons, Explosives and Hazardous Substances Service carried out 18 home searches in the counties of Ilfov, Giurgiu and Teleorman as part of a criminal case concerning the illegal possession of firearms and live ammunition. The operation was conducted under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Cornetu District Court.

Eighteen people aged between 22 and 61 are being investigated on suspicion of violating weapons and ammunition regulations. Investigators are seeking to identify and seize weapons, ammunition and other items of evidence relevant to determining the circumstances in which the alleged offenses were committed.

Police officers from the General Directorate of Police of Bucharest Municipality, the Giurgiu County Police Inspectorate and the Teleorman County Police Inspectorate, as well as gendarmes from the Ilfov County Gendarmerie Inspectorate, took part in the operation.

The seized items will be examined and, if necessary, subjected to expert analysis to establish their technical characteristics and legal classification. The persons under investigation will be taken to police headquarters for questioning, while prosecutors will order the legal measures based on the evidence gathered. According to Mediafax sources, one of those investigated is a man with links to the Duduianu clan.
