Police officers in Dâmboviţa conducted a search at the home of influencer Iulian Demeter in a case concerning the offense of failure to comply with the regulations governing firearms and ammunition. The investigation began after the influencer's 11-year-old son ordered online a pistol for which authorization is required.
Masked officers raided his home, where they reportedly discovered an airsoft pistol for which there were no documents proving its origin. In the same case, investigators carried out ten searches in Dâmboviţa County.
“It concerns a pistol ordered online by my son. It is an airsoft pistol for target shooting. I checked the website where he got it and saw that no documents were required to purchase it.
I saw that he was not even asked whether he was of legal age when purchasing it. I am highlighting a problem in this regard. I did not know that he had bought the pistol; I found out later,” Iulian Demeter told Antena 3 CNN.
As part of Operation Jupiter, carried out under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, 87 operational actions are being conducted on Wednesday, during which 346 home-search warrants are being executed in Bucharest and several counties across the country.
