A new stage of Operation Jupiter 6 is taking place nationwide on Sunday, November 8, under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police. Investigators are executing 55 home search warrants as part of 11 operational actions.
The investigations concern acts of bribery, influence peddling, fraud, and forgery in private documents. Activities involving the provision of loans at usurious interest rates are also being investigated, as are acts of coercion against borrowers to recover the money.
Investigators are also examining 21 criminal cases concerning money laundering. The investigations seek to establish the origin and movement of certain sums of money and to identify the operations through which their illicit origin may have been concealed.
In another case, the unlawful possession of a lethal weapon and the online purchase, during 2025-2026, of certain non-lethal ammunition are being investigated. The actions also target forestry offenses, including the illegal felling of trees and the transport of a quantity of timber more than five cubic meters greater than the amount recorded in the transport documents.
As part of the operation, summons warrants are also being executed, and investigators may order precautionary measures. Following Sunday’s actions, the number of home searches carried out in Jupiter 6 reaches 1,652, surpassing the record of 1,632 set by Operation Jupiter 3. Thus, Jupiter 6 becomes the largest action of this kind ever carried out by the Public Ministry.
