The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police will carry out 17 operational actions and 71 home searches nationwide on Saturday as part of Operation “Jupiter.” The investigations seek to document criminal activities and gather the necessary evidence in several cases.
The investigations concern, among other things, offenses related to the regulation of weapons and ammunition. Individuals suspected of having acquired or unlawfully possessing weapons and ammunition subject to authorization are being investigated.
Other investigative directions concern crimes against property, such as loan sharking, theft, breach of trust and embezzlement, as well as the circulation of counterfeit products. Possible violations of legislation on the protection of hunting resources are also being examined, including the use of prohibited hunting methods, along with tax-related offenses.
Summons warrants will also be enforced as part of the operations. The authorities seek to seize material evidence, establish the circumstances in which the offenses were committed and identify all persons involved. Depending on the results of the investigations, the necessary legal measures will be ordered.
