Police officers from Dolj carried out five residential raids on Saturday in Craiova and the commune of Malu Mare as part of Operation “Jupiter,” in a criminal case concerning breaches of the firearms and ammunition regulations.

Following the raids, investigators found four air pistols and more than 2,700 projectiles. The weapons and projectiles were seized as the investigation continues.

The raids took place at the homes of four people aged between 35 and 67. Police checks showed that they were not authorized to possess weapons and ammunition. The weapons discovered had also not been declared to the police.

The investigation is being continued by representatives of the Dolj County Police Inspectorate to establish all the circumstances in which the weapons were possessed and to clarify the legal status of the individuals concerned. At the end of the investigation, police will order the legal measures required based on the results of the evidence gathered.
