French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Tuesday, during a visit to a high school in Mende, that mobile phones and social networks are not beneficial for students. On the occasion of the start of the new school year, the ban on having mobile phones in high schools came into effect, a measure aimed at improving students' attention and concentration.
Macron explained that, during his meetings, he asks participants to hand over their phones to avoid distractions. He also emphasized that excessive exposure to screens leads to addictions and difficulties in concentration. Additionally, the president mentioned his efforts to ban access to social networks for children under 15, despite the previous annulment of this measure by the supreme court. Macron promised that the government will continue to work on a new bill in this regard.
