The Prosecutor's Office next to the High Court of Cassation and Justice has ordered the trial, in a state of preventive detention, of three individuals accused of qualified smuggling and violation of the arms and ammunition regime.

According to the indictment, between September 17-25, 2025, two of them purchased ten lethal firearms from Turkey, which they handed over to a truck driver. He transported the weapons hidden in the truck's trailer, illegally introducing them into Romania through the Giurgiu border crossing point. The weapons, of caliber 12, are designed for lethal ammunition and are functional.

Between October 9-16, 2025, the same individuals purchased other handguns, which were illegally shipped to Romania through the same driver. The indictment has been sent to the Găești Court for trial.
